This maquette is part of a proposal to make a larger 10 foot version of "Interwoven" for the Allison sculpture garden.
The sculpture garden currently hosts a rotating collection of works with a predominant realistic slant. My goal was to create an abstract piece that speaks to this environment offered something refreshing and unique compared to the other sculptures in the area yet has a strong tie-in to the Allison and its commitment to weaving together a sense of community and connection to wine country, the agriculturally rich Willamette Valley and unique quality experiences that this area has to offer.
The circle is a metaphor for the cycles of the season. The two connected arcs speak to man and nature and how they are interwoven and connected yet separate. The proposed finish piece will be made out of stainless steel tubing about 10 feet tall by 4 feet wide.
