MURABA RESIDENCES, DUBAI

A groundbreaking project on the Dubai Palm Jumeirah, comprising over three thousand cast, tempered and laminated glass fins, mounted external to the windows of these luxury apartments. The vertical fins over 3 meters long, and 27 mm thick, provide privacy from adjacent buildings, while affording a view over the sea in the other direction. I was flown in as a technical consultant and team member to solve the challenge of kiln firing these very thick and very long panels of glass as quickly as possible. I designed the mold material, the firing schedule and production procedures for the project. Budget $1.3 Million. I was in Dubai for 8 days in Nov 2015 and worked as a consultant for three months following.
